HAPPY FRIDAY!!! {Doesn’t that have a glorious ring to it?!}
I’m super excited because it’s GIVEAWAY DAY!! As you know, we mix it up a few Fridays each month by featuring a guest post from one of my awesome ministry friends … with a FREE GIVEAWAY opportunity for you!
Today I’m honored to introduce you to two of my friends: KATHI LIPP and CHERI GREGORY. When it comes to the latest book they co-wrote, OVERWHELMED, they are a dynamic duo in every way. Kathi and Cheri may both live on the west coast and they may both spell their names with an “i” on the end, but they bring beautifully different strengths and styles to the pages … daringly different perspectives … and all with gobs and gobs of relevance and challenge that will help you connect deeply with this message. Which is one we all need to hear and connect with!
SO sit back and breathe deep as Kathi and Cheri show you how you can simplify and savor your life—guilt free! Clutter, tasks, and relationships may overwhelm you now, but God can help you overcome with grace.
OVERWHELMED MUCH?
There are different degrees and types of overwhelmed. There is the overwhelmed of too much to do in too little time. There is the overwhelmed of bad circumstances piling up on top of each other.
But the overwhelmed that slays me, the overwhelmed that plays with my heart and my mind and makes me believe I am worthless, is the overwhelmed born out of shame. Because it’s that kind of overwhelmed that starts to chip away at my soul. That is the overwhelmed that keeps me from being all that God has designed me to be.
Overwhelmed in any of its forms is damaging to who we are. Busyness. Bad choices. Bad circumstances. But the shaming overwhelm is the one I need to fight again with every fiber of my body. Because the overwhelm fueled by shame? That is my kryptonite. It makes me shut down and not be able to accomplish anything. It makes me quit before I start, and it tells me that I’m worthless.
This is where I felt the most overwhelmed. When I feel like I should be handling things better than I have.
When I feel like I should know what to do.
When I feel like it should be easier to rely on God than it is.
Whatever your constellation of overwhelmed, we all have one thing in common: Overwhelmed turns us into someone we never wanted to be. Someone God never created us to be.
But something I’ve noticed over the past several years has got me more worried than that feeling of overwhelmed.
It’s the acceptance of it.
As if God designed us to live stressed-out, crazy-making, shame-filled lives. As if the God of the universe said, “I’m going to require everything and equip you with nothing.” As if God designed overwhelmed as our default. If you believe that, then this book is not for you.
Everyone loves to talk about how overwhelmed they are. This book is for women who actually want to do something about it.
Now if this statement overwhelms you, hang in there with us. We’re not suggesting you attempt an overnight overhaul of your entire life. (Been there, done that, T-shirt was ugly.)
If you’re at a place in your life where you’re saying, “I need a change!” then this book is for you.
The number one question we get when we tell people the title of the book we’re writing is: “So you don’t get overwhelmed anymore?”
We aren’t women who have done it perfectly (oh, we’ve tried—that didn’t work out so well for us). We’re still breathing. So yes, we still get overwhelmed.
You’re not going to get un-overwhelmed overnight. We’re going to give you a variety of triage tools and walk you through intentional long-term change that lasts. We believe anyone can find great value in this book; even if all you can do is one small step at a time, that is far far better than nothing.
We are never going to be completely free of overwhelming circumstances. But when you start to feel those feelings, you want to have a process to go through to break it down. So when you have that trigger, you’ll automatically ask: What’s making me feel overwhelmed? What tools can I use in this situation?
We may be the writers of this book, but you, dear reader, are the author of the outcome. The words are easy, but the work is hard.
The good news—you have a couple of coaches who have worked through this process and seen it work. And now we want to offer the same to you. Our hope is to equip you to:
EXPAND your capacity for joy, regardless of your current circumstances.
MAKE intentional choices today that serve you tomorrow.
TRADE the to-do list that controls you for a calendar that creates space for your life.
DECIDE whose feedback to forget and whose input to invite.
REPLACE fear of the future with peace in the present.
Are you ready?
The life you were designed to live is waiting for you on the other side of overwhelmed.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Blessings and praises for a chance to win OVERWHELMED….
Would love a copy…:)..
Often overwhelmed. Would love a copy of this book?
Overwhelmed is an understatement. As a single mom of two boys-10 and 7-one who suffers from ADD/anxiety which manifests in his relationship with his younger brother by CONSTANT picking on him, annoying him, antagonising him, treating him meanly, and pretty much beating on him and the younger one is scared to go upstairs or downstairs alone. I am the parent who does everything regarding the boys, yet their personality disordered father continually berates me for how selfish I am regarding our sons. There are days where I’m hanging on by a thread and I know that Jesus is holding the other end, but IT IS HARD.
Yes, Kelli. Overwhelmed does sound like an understatement! Thinking of you today and praying that God gives you the daily strength, wisdom and patience that you need!
Thank you thank you for your encouragement!
Last year our neighborhood of women studied with Gwens “I want it all”. “Overwhelmed ” seems like it would be a perfect spring 2017 for our group of God loving, crazy busy, wives and mothers. Last spring was transformative for each of us and …… the people we have been given this responsibility to raise and love .
Boy, oh, boy! This is perfect! Thank you for the chance to win a copy of “Overwhelmed.”
Yes, there are times I feel overwhelmed with the day to day demands of life.
Yes, I feel overwhelmed. I have mentally steered myself in the overwhelmed direction for so long, I am not able to think another way. Starting today I am changing my mindset to not be overwhelmed. Thanks for the opportunity to win the book.
i need to quiet the chaos>>
I am overwhelmed. Some days I feel like I have taken on more than I can handle. Then I remember God never gives you more than you can handle. I just need to stay strong in him to get through the overwhelming days.
Yes, and yes! Almost became overwhelmed with what to say. I’ll be sharing the book after I read it, by getting it in the give away or purchasing the book.
Overwhelmed is what this Grandmother feels with my 15 year old grandson whom I am raising because of my daughters death 19 months ago. David is an intelligent and wonderful young man but, he is rebelling and indeed it gives me feelings of being overwhelmed at times. I praise GOD that he is allowing me to raid him and his sister Mikki and trust that GODS will, will be done. Thank you so much
I am so sorry to hear about death of your daughter! Praying for God’s peace and comfort to surround you. Also praying for strength and wisdom as you raise your grandchildren!
really enjoyed the devotional overwhelmed by your speaker i also enjoyed the prey at the end of the book im right there.
Overwhelmed is what I feel at times, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year and the fatigue that comes with it limits what I have the energy to do. Through it all I am learning to trust God more and slow down. Thanks for the encouragement.
Overwhelmed by shame hits way too close to home. Thank you for putting it in words. God bless you.
overwhelmed love this word.. reminds me of the song by Big Daddy Weave! I Am Overwhelmed by God’s love and goodness.. this book sounds like it would a great book! Thank you for offering it to us! God bless you ~
Yes!!! Sounds like a great book!!!
Blessings!!!
This sounds like a wonderful book for all of us women who feel overwhelmed at one time or another.
I could really use this! I’m helping my mother who has dementia, working, trying to keep the house clean, and I need to make time for exercise and Bible study. I haven’t balanced my checkbook in two months, and I’m usually on top of this kind of thing. I’m depressed because I have so much to do, and not enough time to do it all.
You definitely have a lot on your plate Sonya! Looking at the big picture and seeing all that needs to be done is certainly overwhelming. Praying that God shows you one small thing that you can do each day and that you feel like progress is being made.
OVERWHELMED….Perfectly describes me at this moment in time. I just went through a divorce, buried my father, and have a paranoid schizophrenic son living with me that refuses to get help. I pray for strength, guidance, and healing every day, but at times I feel so overwhelmed by it all that I find my faith slipping away. May I humbly ask for prayers from you guys? I would appreciate it so very much. More than anything I want my son to get the help he needs, but I am at a loss at how to accomplish this. I feel so alone in this struggle, as I get no help from his father or anyone else for that matter. I raised my 3 boys alone, so I am used to handling things on my own, but I am TIRED. And overwhelmed !
Hi Sandra. I am so sorry for all that you are going through. I will be praying for you! Praying that you feel God’s presence with you. That he restores your faith and gives you wisdom and patience as you help your son. I also pray that he brings you support. Others who can hold you up when you are weak. May God bless and keep you! Hang in there sister!
Reminds me to be grateful for each day and enjoy more one on one time with Jesus.
I received a journal from a lady at church and it has inspired me to be grateful for ever day.
As a public school speech language pathologist I am always overwhelmed, but I know that God is in control and we just take it one day at a time.
I would be very interested in this book.
Reminds me to walk by faith and not by sight.
Yes please and thank you ladies for inspiring all of us!:))xoxo
I love your positive messages…it’s so easy to become overwhelmed…but attitude has so much to do with it. I would love to read the book…thanks for sharing this.
This is a great giveaway. Would love to win
This is a great give away. Overwhelmed is where I’m at right now!
Constantly feel overwhelmed and sometimes don’t know why. So enjoy my time with the Girlfriends. They bless my day every day!
Sounds like an awesome read, one that a lot of women can relate:)
I would love to win the book Overwhelmed. Some days the thought of getting out of bed and starting the day is overwhelming.
I have always told my girls to be intentional in what they do. This way less accidents occur and it is easier to prioritize what you should do. We can’t work our way into God’s good graces, but sometimes that is what we think. So easy to get overwhelmed when you live like that.
We all feel overwhelmed sometimes and it’s easy to forget to take it to God when we’re in the middle of a crisis. Thank you for sharing Romans 15:13. It’s one of my all time favorites! God is a God of hope! And He is always willing to give us His hope. I am praying for everyone who has shared their story today.
I still have times when I get overwhelmed by life. But I know that God is my best tool to overcome. I have been mentoring a young lady that is so overwhelmed by her life. This book would be a great resource to remind her that God is faithful.
Would love to have this book not just for myself but to share with others as a way to bring the hope we have in Jesus to the overwhelmed I come in contact with.
I never thought of overwhelmed coming from circumstances piling up on each other. I had sibling after sibling get a cancer and die then my mother passed in 2008 from lung cancer. 2011 I had a Jacksonian March Seizure, which in turn led to findin a tumor on the right side of my brain the size of a kiwi. Well that tumor caused brain issues left leg issues, and others. I went from strong to weak. Which brought me to the shame. I now see I am overwhelmed with shame. I am disabled, making nothing. Getting nothing from government. My youngest sister, last sibling, committed suicide July 7, 2015. She chose that date so I would not forget the date. That date is the nineteenth anniversary of my only sons death. I had memory issues from the tumor, she knew that. My brother n law convinced the ME that it was an accidental overdose. She mixed two drugs that couldn’t be mixed. I have not been the same since. Gwen Smith brings life to me, I am happy she introduced the both of you to all of us. Make it a great day <3
Oh Robin, you really have had one thing after another and your world has been turned upside down. I am praying that God shows you how much you are loved today! May he show you your value in his kingdom and give you peace and healing for your hurts. Hugs!!
I want to learn how to work through feeling overwhelmed and keep on going. I need help like this
I want to learn how to work through feeling overwhelmed and keep on going:)
Yes, overwhelmed!
Definitely need these tools. I am a nurse & feel overwhelmed most days at work. Love my job & my patients — just too much to do & not enough time or energy to accomplish the tasks at hand. Thank you for offering help to the “helper”.
Trading fear and chaos and worry for peace and joy…thanks for the inspiration you offer Gwen and Team!
Thank goodness these ladies have struck upon a nerve called Overwhelmed. Indeed there’s so much information bombarding us in this fast-paced society most of us are overwhelmed a great deal of the time. Yes, I need the tools to achieve the life God has for me, not the chaos of responding to the black hole of chaos I find just about everywhere. I am a nurse & believe me, every day at work I feel overwhelmed!
I do feel overwhelemd with Life many times…then I remember to be still, I breathe and trust the Lord…He gives us all 24 hours in a day and if we pray for His guidance for every second of every minutes of every hour ..He has promised to guide ..I could not afford to buy this book but if the Lord wants me to have it, then I will..in His way, in His time ..thank you Gwen for your emails..they are a true blessing and help in my life, as are your songs
I have a group of ladies in my Sunday school class that could use this book!
I constantly battle this type of overwhelmed. It sucks the life right out of you. I would love to learn how to combat it more effectively.
It would be such a blessing to win this book.
Thank you.
Too much to do and not enough time to do it!
At this time in my life where I don’t want to leave the dwelling I love in because it no longer feels like I matter your reminding me that I do matter and that I can overcome this issue in my life right now..I just need to have the right tools and Overwhelmed sounds like the right tool…Thank you
Hi Patricia! Just wanted you to know that you do matter – a lot! God loves you so very much. Praying that you feel and see his love in a very tangible way today and you realize just how worthy you are in his sight! Blessings!
Too much to do and very little time to do it!!
I struggle with this feeling of being overwhelmed…
OVERWHELMED !!
Thank you for this opportunity to help win a resource to help me with being overwhelmed. My life verse for this year is the Joy of the Lord is my strength and this would be a great resource to help me live out this verse everyday.
could most definitely use direction and guidance on feeling overwhelmed. please!
Looks like a good book
I am feeling overwhelmed.
I am overwhelmed daily. As a 61 year old mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, wife, nurse at the Cancer Center, Teacher at local university, substitute Sunday School Teacher and so forth. I read my devotionals daily and love my GIG. I could sure use a book like this. You would think that by now I could make the right choices. But like “I could have had a V8” “I could have prayed before acting.”
This looks like a great book for me, but an even more needed book for another gal I’m thinking of. Even if I don’t win, I’ll find this and get it for her. Thanks!
And as one who loves bullet points, your intro is great –
EXPAND your capacity for joy, regardless of your current circumstances.
MAKE intentional choices today that serve you tomorrow.
TRADE the to-do list that controls you for a calendar that creates space for your life.
DECIDE whose feedback to forget and whose input to invite.
REPLACE fear of the future with peace in the present.
Thanks for the Lords word…
I am so interested in receiving this book. I too feel overwhelmed and I juse lost my daddy on July . I suffer from panic and aniexty attacks . I really need God to move and help me .
So sorry for your loss Michelle. Praying for peace, comfort and healing from you panic and anxiety attacks. May God bless you and keep you.
Thanks you for giving us this opportunity to win share on fb
I miss those Quiet moments when I am waiting and able to hear the “Still small voice” The drumming of the “must do’s” are so loud my soul is parched.
This book sounds like just what I need! Struggling with a blended family, a strained marriage and other day to day activities, it is so challenging and overwhelming! I don’t know what it is to sit and relax, not even for a minute. I hope this book would help me find some quiet time so that I may spend it with God and find some peace and answers to some of these issues.
Thank you for this opportunity.
I often feel overwhelmed, I would love to read your book. I think it would have many helpful tools. Thanks for the opportunity!
Thanks for the giveaway! Overwhelmed sounds like a wonderful read that can refresh ones’ soul.
My life is a chaos. Sounds like something i could read to help me. My kids say im a hordoar but to me its crafts i need to finish. I know God had made me for a different purpose. I need to find it.
Sounds like a great book. I know I could use help in that area!
I think all of us at times, feel overwhelmed by life. But, if we focus on Jesus, He brings us peace as only He can. I would love to have this book for a dear friend that needs a little help right now.
Looks like a great book, so true about the to-do list that controls our calendars.
This looks like a great book!!! We are all so overwhelmed!!! I know God does not want that for us!!!
Overwhelmed…oh that word creeps in like a silent attacker and all of the sudden there you are OVERWHELMED. The idea that God does not want us to be is something that doesn’t occur in the midst of it all but what a comforting thought that our Father loves us so much he is there for every instance in our life. Even when we fall into being overwhelmed. Thank you
Overwhelmed. …I take care of my very energetic 5 year old grandson so his mom, my daughter, can work. But lately it is like I have him all the…while we line in 5he same home…I usually have much needed alone and me time…but these last few months…it isn’t work…it everyday ….she was a young mom…I supported her through it all…and she is awesome teaching him and spending time…but as of late
Well I am beyond tired….and eeeking jot even 10 minutes
Thank you for considering me in this give away
Yes, keeping up with a 5 year old is tiring Annette. Praying that you get some rest!
Oh WOW just in time for a period of my life I didn’t quite bargain for being so Overwhelmed right now. I have always been a multi task person, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and all the things that go with the job of Pastor’s wife, full time job and occasional babysitting (it’s always been a joke in our family I Work so I don’t have to babysit). But since retiring things just seem to be going in the wrong direction. I can’t seem to get my priorities straight and keep having a messed up life and feelings going out the door. My son has been in the hospital for the last 5 weeks and I am babysitting 4 of my grandkids plus I homeschool 4 of my other grandkids and things just keep getting all jumble up and at times I am feeling so overwhelmed I just want to find a corner and sit down and have a good cry. but haven’t had the time or a place to do that. please send me your book OVERWHELMED so I can get something to help me get back on track. I love my Lord and He is always with me and the Holy Spirit is working within me but my mind is in need of something besides someone trying to tell me how beautiful I am and that I am a new creation with the right thoughts and attitudes. Right now my attitudes stink. Thank you for writing about something know one else has thought about write to really give us the HELP me need
Wow is right Carol! You have a lot going on in your life right now. I appreciate your honesty and I would have to say that my attitude would stink too! I’m sorry that you are dealing with so much. I am praying that God sends you quiet moments where you can hear his voice among the voices of many others. That today, someone would offer a kind word or lift a burden off of you and that God would help you see joy in the midst of overwhelmed. Also praying for healing of your son! Hang in there.
My husband of 30 years recently died unexpected. I need hope and the book sounds like it is what will help me with this.
Janet, I am so sorry for your loss. Praying that you feel God’s presence and peace today. Also praying that he begins to fill your heart with hope and sends people to you who will speak hope and love into your life.
I AM SO GEEKED!!!! I love Kathi and Cheri’s book THE CURE FOR THE PERFECT LIFE! I am sure this book OVERWHELMED is just as awesome. My friends have used and shared The Perfect Life and its still making its rounds since I first shared it a year ago. Kathi and Cheri have a wonderful writing style that makes it seem your talking with your friends at the kitchen table. They add quizzes, tests, tip sections and such that help you expand on the reading. If I don’t win the giveaway I will purchase… May purchase any way to share since my last book was on loan for a while…Lol! And it was a perfect day to get this from Gwen and friends…. I had my little pity party cry this morning. I was letting the circumstances of upcoming surgeries OVERWHELM me!! I know He’s got this…. If I doubt His power through this, where is my belief? This article helped me ember and I know it was no coincidence it was in my Inbox! Blessings 🙂
Always feeling OVERWHELMED… Seems like there’s not enough hours in the day!
Yes yes yes!!! I need this!
I work at the Rescue Mission with women who would benefit from this teaching, I want to learn to stop being overwhelmed by shame so I can pay that forward to these women.
God bless
Awesome idea Twila! I pray that you receive the message in this book and can share it with others…. That the message makes an impact in the lives of these people and they can have a life of peace instead of Overwhelmed…. The Lord holds up the meek and humble. Blessings!
It’s my middle name “overwhelmed”. It’s so hard to find peace in the chaos of this world.
Thank you for your ministry that helps to focus and restore perspective to so many people.
May God bless your work.
I live a simple life, but so easily overwhelmed by life happening. I hope this book may be a helpful tool
You’re absolutely right. We need to make intentional choices to work for God and not Satan. He wants us to live happy lives and not relive the bad choices or rushed lives we live. He gave us all we need, we just need to realize that and accept His help! Thanks for this article. I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for the opportunity to win your book, too!
I’m actually overwhelmed right now as I read this. I’m 38 years old and have Copd, have never smoked, sever gastroperesis which has made it that I had to have two pieces of my intestines removed (both emergency)which meant they had to put a G/J tube in for venting, medicine and feeding sometimes. It was only supposed to be in there for six weeks, now we’re at six months and have been told it’s never coming out. Everything that can go wrong with it does. I’m constantly discharging through bandages left in right. The pain is absolutely aweful!! And as stripped me away from doing things with my children and husband like sledding, walking a lot because of the pain, extreme amount of discharge and granulated tissue. you’re not really supposed to need to have it cauterize a lot.but unfortunately I do. That’s actually what I’m up to today, which is extremely painful. But I know it has to be done. I can no longer work and these health issues definitely put a damper on my life. I was supposed to come see you guys with my amazing sister in February on the cruise which I so desperately want. But due to money, and health it’s making it hard. I’m really bummed. we have wanted a sister trip as long as I can remember. I’m grateful for the tube for not vomiting , and not having to go to the hospital to have a my tube put in but as far as pain and the rest, believe me there’s days like today I want it to be gone!! They have given me the decision but don’t recommend it. I would love to read this book and a I have a very special friend who’s going through cancer at a very young age who could also read it. I want to thank you so much for this opportunity. Much love to you all..
Christel
Prays for healing and peace in your heart Christel. I also pray that your health and finances allow you to go on the cruise for your sister trip! That would be so awesome for you! Blessings sweet sister!
I am so sorry that you are going through so much Christel! Praying for healing for you and wisdom for the dr.’s who are treating you.
Pastor’s wife, homeschool mom, one of three primary caretakers for my mom who just recently started dialysis… I need this book! Juggling family time and time on the road geating my mom to treatments and appts- all while still maintaining some normalcy in my own life and home, it’s hard. If I am not careful to keep God at the center of everything I do- one tiny slip and the devil creeps in. God is with me, this I know and believe. This book would help me understand how to handle being ‘overwhelmed’ and simply allow God to go before me and make a way.
God bless you and thank you so very much
I would love to read this book and I know many friends and family that may like to read it as well. Thank you for offering this book to all of us.
Sometimes, I’m not even sure why I’m overwhelmed. I’m currently and intentionally not working to help my husband out with his business, but it’s truly part time and I have a ton of free time to get things done (and throughout all the years I was working, that’s all I dreamed of). Yet my home is messier than it ever was, I’m more unorganized than I ever was, I have no routine of substance, and the only way I can describe myself is like a pinball: I start something, then bounce off the wall to something else, then bounce off that wall to something else–until eventually, I slip through the flippers of motivation and into the drain of despair, and nothing gets accomplished in the process. Sometimes my mind is so overwhelmed, I don’t even know where to start…so I don’t. I’ve been through some tough life circumstances that were very overwhelming; I survived and eventually thrived. Why is it that now I can’t seem to get out of my own way? I’m beginning to believe that it’s the enemy clouding my thoughts and stealing my focus, just loving it when I’m idle. This is something I’m trying to work through with God’s help and I can’t help but feel He’s trying to knock something into my head that I’m just not getting. I honestly don’t even know why I’m writing this because I have several books I’ve started staring at me every day and the thought of possibly winning something I’d have to read even overwhelms me!!
Your post resonated with me Lisa. Sometimes I build tasks up in my head that I give up before I start. I am the worst at getting the dishwasher emptied. In my head it takes so much time. One day, I timed it. Yep, less than five minutes! The enemy loves to keep to us stuck! Praying that God shows you how to get out this cycle in very practical ways!
I start my morning reading the daily message. Your insight in to what is needed is amazing. Thank you for sharing the message, and I am looking forward to reading Overwhelmed, this is one I would share with my friends.
There are so many unexpected things going on in my life right now. I feel so overwhelmed and unprepared. I’m clinging to God for direction but often I’m just holding on not accomplishing anything ?
Thank you for placing my name in the drawing too! What woman has never been overwhelmed? This New Year I’ve been intentionally leaning on Jesus & at the same time the longing to grow deeper in Him feels overwhelming! Organizing the different hats we all wear will be oh so helpful! Can’t wait to share this with other God chicks!
Life in this present season overwhelms me. But God is made perfect in my weakness. I know that He will cover me with His grace once more. Thank you for the opportunity to win this book.
Sounds like good direction! Would love to read the book.
I’m so overwhelmed. New year ,releasing the death of my parents ,new job ,money is slow,God is good.
Jesus as we know in The Bible has Grace beyond our understanding! But through adversity is our true testimony! I am a Believer of 14 years, never married single mom of an amazing Jesus loving daughter that God truly “knit in my womb” to bring me the true JOY only He can give us! I lost my fiance after 30 years of “waiting on The Lord” for my soulmate; to a tragic fall on his farm at 56 years old 2 and a half years ago. We had just walked his beautiful farm four days prior to his passing, 5 weeks after my birthday engagement, discussing our future together as a family, as he had no children and adored my daughter, and his purpose was helping teens and anyone he could help on the streets in our area. He also bred and raised the most beautiful Peafowl, Emus, Exotic Geese and loved his creatures of God, all of which were given to us, all 65 after so many thought I was making a bad decision being on my own, as a lot of my support of my family and friends were in NJ as we had been “plucked from my comfort zone” hometown to afford a life in Pa just 6 years prior. I knew that I would continue a purpose of his and my heart for children and now we are opening “The Creation Aviary” with area Pastors for children to come learn about Jesus’ unfailing love and build The Kingdom here as we started to do!! How different The Plans but my Faith is the only thing that has kept me strong, feeling Jesus’ arms daily, focused and I have been so filled with The Holy Spirit from this experience, my love resonates prayfully to all I touch!!! I love The Lord with all my heart and soul!!
Thank you for letting me share my testimony of true love!!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony of hope Barbara. Blessings to you and your New venture 🙂 I have worked with special children for many years so projects like yours always have a special place in my heart! Prayers for it’s success!! And I know what you mean about life’s “plans”…. Trust God’s.
Life does have a way of coming in strong sometimes. Thanks for addressing this life issue!
Thank You for this great insight. I look forward to reading your book, and making intentional choices.
I want to be overwhelmed by God – not life!
Overwhelmed and where to start! I’m trusting God!
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity to possibly win a copy of your book that sounds like we all need to read!
Thank you for offering this awesome book. So many people are overwhelmed and get stuck in the things in this troubled world. I would love the opportunity to win this book.
I love to read books that will help me. I am a single mother with 2 children so I know about being overwhelmed. I would like to change those feelings to something positive. I have been asking God to change me.
This sounds like a book that I need to read. Along with a few friends and family members. Thank you for offering the chance to win it. God bless.
Was told at 10 PM last night that all the cars in our complex had to be moved today by 11 AM. My teenage daughter tire blew about a week ago so we have the car parked. I ask her to make sure she started the car every day and I know she started out that way.but a snowstorm hit the last three days and she did not want to go out to start the car and cold. So at 10:30 PM we charge out to try to start her car to get it moved so the parking lot to be cleaned. The car wouldn’t start we tried to jumpstart it with my truck, My son came out we tried to push it to the garage. The car will not move. At this time it was -2° and we were freezing. We gave up. Hoping that the car will not be towed this morning I just prayed last night and prayed. I am a single mom and I don’t have money to get a car out of tow!
So I’m feeling completely overwhelmed because this morning at 6 o’clock I have to take my sister to the hospital for x-ray she fell and hurt her knee. So with these two things happening plus daily life of taking your child to school, going to work, and daughter to gymnastics practice I am totally overwhelmed! I could truly use this book! Thank you!
It’s 5 o’clock in the morning and I’m crying out in prayer asking the Lord for an answer as to why I have no joy or peace, just anxiety & hopeless. Then I had a thought to google my email. Wow, right there in front of me is the email about your book. Supernaturally arranged by the Holy to give me the answer to my cry. Thank you for the opportunity to learn how to change gently. That little word gently grabbed my heart. I too would share this book sent to me from Heaven.
Isn’t it awesome when HE works like that!!! I love it! Blessings! 🙂
Truly sounds like a book I need to read?
I also would love for my daughter and daughter in law to be able to read it, however I think as Mom’s of 3 and 4 young children they may be too overwhelmed to take to read it ?
God Bless
This sounds like a wonderful book for someone whose life is already full of wounds and trauma and you add day to day life to it!
Thank you for addressing this and praying for the peace of God for all who desire and seek it!
Feeling overwhelmed is so easy these days. What a great book to read. Thanks for the opportunity. Amy
It’s amazing the Wisdom, Knowledge and Words we have but do not adhere to them! As a Daughter, Sister, Christ Sister, Wife, Mother and Dairy Farm Owner with over 25 employees I lift them up with hope, encouragement and inspiration! But, it’s a big bug it all comes with being overwhelmed and feeling defeated many times! I think this book will be an encouragement and inspiration to me and everyone around me! Thank you for giving us daily hope through Gods Word, Tammy
I am definitely Overwhelmed — and would love a free copy! My work is re-organizing and changing our territories — I am moving from having the west coast to the east coast (not a physical move) — just taking care of new dealers. And the re-organization does involve traveling and training. Yikes – very overwhelming. Have a great day “Girlfriends In God”
Thank you for offering this giveaway. I love the title Overwhelmed! This explains me very well.I know of quite a few friends who can relate to this book. I know if I won the book that I would share this book with them. If I don’t win the book thats okay too. I am just so thankful and blessed that you gave us this encouraging message as I am very entrigued to get this book now.
Sometimes I think I am alone in my struggles with feeling overwhelmed. This message really hit home today and I certainly could use the suggestions in this book!
You are definitely not alone Jennifer. There are tons of women all over the world struggling with feeling overwhelmed. Some just hide it better than others 😉 I hope today is a great day!
OVERWHELMED! Yep! That’s me for sure. I feel as if I have this day and everyday that I need to so BUSYfor God that I don’t have time to sit down! I feel as if I have a windup Key in my Back that has to be turned to keep me moving for God! If not I feel ashamed and very OVERWHELMED! And let down. It soon becomes a habait! Mostly I forget my Selfworth! I would really enjoy reading this book OVERWHELMED! I think the way life is today for most of us, with all that is apart of our lives, Family, Children, Grandchildren, etc. trying to keep up with all the Technology we can Really become OVERWHELMED with ourselves! God didn’t create us to carry such a burden. I thank God each and everyday for His guidance in my life! He keeps me grounded! Wishing everyone a Blessed Day!
I’d love to win a copy. I know so many besides myself who need to read it. ?
i would love to read this, book…being disabled and on a limited income, it is hard for me to purchase books…thanks for the opportunity to win …and my God bless you for your generosity..we are all over whelmed and who ever wins, I pray this book helps.
Thank you! Truly thankful for your daily, encouraging messages. And this book looks so intriguing! God knows my heart oh so well, and this book is tugging at my heart. We mom’s, wifes, women in general put ourselves on this train fueled by our own willpower and stubbornness. We seriously need to jump this train that’s bound for discouragement and frustration. I would rather walk, thank you very much towards a path paved by His will and serenity. To me, His sweet serenity is the opposite of being overwhelmed. I appreciate the opportunity of winning this book. But I appreciate more the change you have given us another wonderful tool to help to grow our faith and confidence in our loving grace providing creator!!
Just as becoming un-overwhelmed is gradual, the feeling of being overwhelmed with shame in the first place is a gradual process too. Clients describe how their self-confidence is slowly chipped away by a series of slights, embarrassments and episodes of rejection until the shame causes them to doubt themselves, and enter into a cycle of self-loathing, until when they look in the mirror, they start seeing themselves through the eyes of the critics. A good prayer of resilience is to believe the scripture that says “instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, instead of your disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance”.Isaiah 61:7 is a powerful way to fight back against that shame that can try to overwhelm. We can’t let shame win.
As an MK [Missionary Kid] growing up on the field, SO MUCH was expected of me/us by churches, the nationals, our parents, our peers…. With that, many MKs grow up as overachievers, which is positive on one hand, but is EXHAUSTING on the long range. I am now 62. My kids are already raised, my husband and I [who are not missionaries, supported by others] are ready to retire, but I continue to feel overwhelmed 24/7.
I need to be reminded daily that this is not what the Lord desires of me…
Thank you!
The word “Overwhelmed” has been part of my vocabulary for a very long time. Ready to change that!!!! I know being overwhelmed is not part of God’s plan for anyone. Excited about the book.
I enjoy the topic and found it educative
Thank you for a chance to win such a wonderful book. I know a lot of people, including myself that struggle with this. After my husband passed away, I felt even more overwhelmed to do it all
I never realized how being overwhelmed can drain a person or even change them. It turns you into a person you don’t recognize and God does not want you to be. It’s my struggle daily. This devotion was on time thank you.
This book would not only be great for me but I know my daughter would benefit. She has been going through so many overwhelming things in her life lately. Her oldest has been diagnosed with autism and I know Satan has been after her and making her feel like she is not a good mom. After reading about the book, it will be going on my wish list!
I more than too often overwhelmed by everything going on in this world. But thankful I have an amazing God who is not unfamiliar with it all. Thank you for the opportunity to possibly win this book.
Thank you for the chance to win a copy of Overwhelmed! In this fast-paced, fit everything in world, we are unrealistically thought to do it all and be all… which is tooooo overwhelming for anyone..
Thank you for this opportunity as we do not realize that we are accepting to be the people that God never intended us to be, we are living our lives overwhelmed by today’s life and confuse that with the way we are supposed to live.
Thank you for reminding me to make intentional choices and be an ambassador for Christ.
